Server Core X11 session

Behaves like the server core mode on Windows Server, and displays only a terminal window using an ugly window manager.

Installation

Server Core can be installed using the install make target. The default $PREFIX is /usr/local, except for the .desktop file, which MUST be in /usr/share/xsessions. You can change the wallpaper to be installed by setting $WALLPAPER:

make PREFIX=/usr WALLPAPER=YourWallpaper.jpg install

Notes

If you want to have a special Shell environment for a Server Core session, you can use the following if block in your bash-compatible shell:

if [[ $XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP == "server-core" ]]
then
	# Make some magic!
	export PS1='C:\>'
